To ensure all tax filings are on time and to avoid late filing penalties with tax authorities, our company's policy *1 is to file complimentary extensions for everyone that has uploaded all of their documents by our company's deadline above. For all others, there will be an extension fee added to your account.
We will continue to prepare the returns in the order they were received until all returns are completed.
*1 We file extensions starting Mar 1st & Apr 1st just in case if any unexpected events occur. For example, in the last weeks before April 15th 2020, Channika became ill and was admitted to the hospital. With her in the hospital, she wanted to ensure that her clients are taken care of. She started filing extensions in her hospital bed. We never know what can happen at any point, so we like to stay prepared and file extensions just in case if any unforeseeable events take place.
*2 Filing an extension is an extension to file, not an extension to pay. If there is a balance owed, that will be due on the normal deadline not the extension deadline.
